A video made for Paid Memberships Pro with a little something for everyone.
You are unique. It’s true! And that is exactly why I wanted to make this video for Paid Memberships Pro. If you’re wondering, I am the marketing lead at Paid Memberships Pro, a WordPress Plugin that allows you to add specific Membership functionality to your WordPress site.
One of my duties as the marketing lead is to find ways to improve our sales and overall brand awareness. We use video more and more in our marketing strategy to help connect people to our plugin.
The video, “You Are Unique” was an idea I had early on in 2019. For years I have come across PMPro (our sort of nickname for Paid Memberships Pro) customers doing really wonderful things with the plugin. I wanted to make a video, inviting people who have ideas, skills and special ‘know-how’ that are looking to build a membership site to try Paid Memberships Pro.
This video is not a technical video and it doesn’t go deep into all the features of Paid Memberships Pro, instead, it looks to bridge the gap to those creators, inventors, writers, and makers who want to turn their idea into a profitable business. You know those who have something unique to sell and are looking to start up that side hustle.

The video’s main objective is actually not to sell anything, you may have noticed that I did not include anything promoting members to join our feature-rich premium memberships. This is because we really want to get more people using Paid Memberships Pro.
The more people that use our plugin the better. Not only in a monetary sense but it also helps with further development, brand awareness, and growth.
This video was written, directed, edited and made by me. It’s by no means perfect. But I have to say I am rather proud of how it turned out. Sure, I’d love to have the ability to have shot my own b-roll. To make it more personal and relative to our brand. But sometimes, you need to work with what you have.
Also, as a marketer you always have to weigh up ‘effort in’ vs ‘results out’. Mostly it can be quite experimental. Sometimes you hit the nail on the head the first time around.
What I am trying to say is that sometimes, it doesn’t help anybody if you spend dozens upon dozens of hours perfecting a campaign only to see minuscule results. Sometimes, good enough is just that – good enough.
What do you think?
I’d love to know what you thought of the “You Are Unique” Paid Memberships Pro video. Was it good? Meh? Maybe it needs some work? Whatever it is, I would love for you to share your thoughts with me down in the comment section below – bye for now 🙂
